Community Outreach
Community connections have always been the core strength of Valley Stewardship Network. Our outreach activities are focused on connecting community with local and regional experts who can share best practices for land and water conservation with landowners, farmers, and everyone who enjoys living, working, and playing in our area watersheds. Our community outreach includes:
- Collaborative stewardship activities and workshops
- On-site technical assistance and services for land management (cost share programs for farmers, habitat restoration for landowners, water quality measurement)
- Assistance with local watershed council development
- Volunteer training and coordination in land and water stewardship
- Regional trainers and coordinators for statewide programs – Water Action Volunteers (UW Extension & Wisconsin DNR) and Wisconsin Master Naturalists (UW Extension)
- Office resource center
- Tools and equipment for conservation activities on farms, recreational lands, and back yard
- Displays and models for events
- Publications
